Alana is a graphic designer and landscape painter. Her artwork is deeply inspired by our coastal wilderness, particularly the places she has explored by kayak. Multi-day paddling trips along the west coast of Vancouver Island, through the Gulf Islands, and in Howe Sound have given her a close connection to the rhythms of the coast—its shifting weather, changing light, quiet coves, and rugged shorelines.

Working primarily in acrylic paint, Alana creates landscapes that seek to capture both the beauty and atmosphere of the natural world. Drawing from sketches, photographs, and memories gathered during her travels, she paints scenes that reflect a strong sense of place and invite viewers to share in the feeling of discovery that comes from exploring remote coastal environments. Most of her work features colours that remain true to the landscapes she experiences, while her Golden Skies series embraces a more expressive approach, filling the canvas with bold, vibrant colours inspired by dramatic sunsets and glowing horizons.

When she is not designing or spending time outdoors, Alana paints in her home studio, transforming her experiences on the water into works that celebrate the landscapes that continue to inspire her.
