I was tasked with creating a premium, yet fun and approachable, new product line of coconut products for Organika. I wanted the products to stand out from the other coconut products on the market. While most feature dull colours and clip art-esk drawings of palm trees, I went in the opposite direction and used bold colours and subtle patterns. I feel that the colours give it personality and presence, while the subtlety of patterns and foil make it feel premium.

After researching existing competitors and the target audience, I then started my first drafts for the design. After some revisions, I consulted with Organika’s marketing team to further refine the design. Once the products had been printed professionally, I was additionally in charge of photographing the products for promotional material.
The coconut line has been very successful and the “Coconut Sauce” was voted Product of the Year Canada 2014 [condiments category] by consumers.
